The unified Korean men’s handball team is set to compete in the IHF Men’s Handball World Championship, which will launch in Berlin on Jan. 11. The Korean will face Germany in the opening match. The unified team will be accompanied by a unified cheering squad. The team comprises 16 South Korean athletes and four North Korean athletes, and began training together in Berlin on Dec. 22, 2018. Although other countries have been limited to 16 athletes per team, the International Handball Federation (IHF) made an exception for the unified Korean team.
